Site Type: Misc. Earthwork
Country: England (West Sussex)
Visited: Yes on 1st Jan 2025

Graylingwell Earthwork submitted by CoppellaiaMatta on 12th Feb 2025. New playing fields are being built in the park, they reach the edges of the iron age dyke but don't overrun it. I think it would be nice to have some information points to help people understand the landscape they are moving in, as part of the redevelopment.

Avebury
Trip No.2 Entry No.4 Date Added: 24th Dec 2024
Site Type: Stone Circle
Country: England (Wiltshire)
Visited: Yes

Avebury submitted by creators on 27th May 2005. I have been reluctant to submit this picture because it is a composite, taken on the same day in the same place but still a composite. It is AngieLake's exquisitely named 'receptors' hands receiving the moon and a picture I love.
So a composite done tenderly of Avebury that is at my very heart.

Country: Greece (Greek Islands)

Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes submitted by CoppellaiaMatta on 21st May 2025. I loved the 'Vase in the shape of a horse loaded with flasks and krateriskos (12th Century B.C.)'
and of all the mosaics this 'centrepiece with New Comedy Mask of the "leading servant" in the opus vermiculatum technique. From the floor of a house of the Middle Hellenistic period, the splendid craftmanship led to its preservation and reuse in a Roman house'.
