Log Text: Unfortunately, the area is heavily overgrown and the individual graves in the forest are badly damaged, looted or covered by rubbish most of the time. The tumuli can, however, still be clearly recognized (although they are not very high).
Some of the tumuli can be reached easily, others require a longer walk.

Log Text: There are some very well preserved tumuli here. An information board also provides further information. The signage is also good, only the way to the site is rather difficult; so you should either walk a little longer or bring a good car.

Passage Grave reconstructed 500 meters south from its original location after it was found again in 1977. 16 Uprights, 1 cap stone and 2 other broken stones survive. There is a sign board and the site is signposted in village.

Log Text: A really good reconstruction (the original grave was around 500 meters away). The stones from the original grave were used to reconstruct it. It is also very well signposted.

Bremervoerde Huegelgrab Plietenberg submitted by CharcoalBurner89 on 13th May 2021. According to Dr. Tempel the tumulus is 21 meters wide and 1.6 meters high.
Professional excavations have not yet taken place. However, in 1858, the geometer Kropp determined that a stone circle runs on the tumulus, which is bisected by a 58 cm wide stone pavement. Nothing comparable is known so far.

This is a large barrow cemetery, but the barrows are small (less than 10m diameter) and low (maximum preserved height 1m).

Heinbockel Megalithgrab submitted by Martin_L on 19th Jun 2012. View towards SW. Southwestern end of a chambered tomb situated next to a small road in the village Heinbockel near Stade. The endstone and the adjacent pair of uprights are preserved and most probably in situ. The original chamber-size is unknown.
According to Körner (in Sprockhoff, Ernst (et al.) – Atlas der Megalithgräber Deutschlands – Teil 3 Niedersachsen - Westfalen, Habelt, Bonn, 1975, p. 22) the only remaining capstone was out of place but moved back on the uprights in 1966. ...
