According to Körner (in Sprockhoff, Ernst (et al.) – Atlas der Megalithgräber Deutschlands – Teil 3 Niedersachsen - Westfalen, Habelt, Bonn, 1975, p. 22) the only remaining capstone was out of place but moved back on the uprights in 1966.
The tomb itself is rather impressive, but the site has lost most of its atmosphere: houses are nearby and there are 2 information boards and a bench unfavourably placed very close to the chamber [January 2008].
