Log Text: Unbelievably difficult to find the source. You have to access it from a private field currently - but then you must break through extreme bramble and nettle bushes and drop down a ravine full of dead trees and more brambles and nettles.

Once in the water feature at the bottom, I followed it to a brickwork structure that looks no older than 100 years. The actual source where the water is rising out of the ground is impossible to reach at the moment, covered by dense fallen trees and logs. I was probably less than 5 meters from it.

Looking at the banks and nearby I saw no trace of anything human or archaeological apart from the brickwork structure that looks related to flood relief for the nearby dwellings.

It's worth another trip with a set of choppers, there may be a surprise if you fully explore the site.
