I would point out that the henge itself is now thought to have been built after the timbers decayed.

A small child called jake was happily playing and respectfully enjoying the atmosphere in there.

Swallowhead Spring submitted by DavidCWoods on 15th Aug 2004. SU101681 Visited 13.08.04 Eventually found the spring site - it's marked on maps, and on the local notices, but not quite clear how you get there. There appeared to be two spring sites, decorated with offerings, but both were dry.

Newgrange submitted by McDeil on 8th Jan 2002. Entry at Newgrange showing massive carved stone which once blocked the entry. Not shown are the tourists who in Summer would queue for up to an hour to be taken through the tomb!
