Parking in layby on the west side of the road opposite the footpath. The path was heavily rutted by cattle, indicating that if it was wet, this would be extremely boggy. Access is over a low point in the wall right next to the stones. Next time I visit I must read the guide books beforehand - two of the stones are actually set in the wall! St Michael's Mount crosses submitted by AngieLake on 31st Dec 2009. One of the most noticeable crosses on the edge of the cliff below the castle.
In 'Ancient Sites in Penwith' by Cheryl Straffon, in the section for 'Crosses', 'St Michael's Mount', she writes: "... an ancient magnificent 6ft shafted and decorated cross (5144 2981) on the SW side poised precariously above the sea."

Check out the lime green square link to 'Streetmap' OS map on the site page for position... (it's not the one near Crazywell Pool). Though it's a bit 'washed out', it gives some idea of the beauty of the area.

Thom's plan shows a mound which would have been visible from Stonehenge as a mark of a southern extreme of the moon.

Balnuaran Of Clava NE submitted by AngieLake on 20th Mar 2010. This is the stone near the NE cairn that I christened the '2001 Stone' after the monoliths in '2001- A Space Odyssey'. A crystal on this NE face gave me a strange sensation when I held my hand over it. In case anyone wants to check it out: I'd recorded it about 2/5ths of the way up from the ground, and about 1/3rd across the stone's width from the right.
