I've been a mid-level megalithomane since childhood, brought up in the kingdom of Wessex. Have gradually moved East and then North-East (excluding a decade or so a long way South). I haven't got as far as the Shetlands yet, nor Ireland, but have visited sites in most other parts of Britain. Further afield I'd like to get to see some of the wonders of Britanny, the Med, and Turkiye
More than twenty years ago I uploaded an image to the site before becoming a member later on. This photo was from the same reel of film... yup, remember those? The little lad on the right is a dad himself these days. And that's me on the left.<br /> <br /> We were renting a cottage somewhere near Leominster, together with sister and brother in law and their young son. Arthur's Stone was a nice day out for us. <br /> <br /> A day or two later I picked up a good copy of The Old Straight Track in Hay. It was great to read it in Watkins's actual stomping ground. A very pretty part of the world. Goodrich Castle was cool too.
