It is indeed astonishing that in discussions of the standing stone and even stone crosses the ubiquitous ancient rock crosses of Kerala India find no place. Students of the obelisk, totems, axis of the world and others interested in rock monuments would do well to take a look at the stone open air or outdoor crosses so abundant in the early churches of the Syriac or Thomas Christian Churches.
