Menhir de Kergornec
Menhir de Kergornec submitted by johnstone : Side 1, June 21, 2023 (Vote or comment on this photo)
An incredible 7 metre tall menhir to the south of the hamlet of Kergornec, Côtes-D'Armor, Brittany. A huge stone with an amazing view across rolling countryside. The markings on the stone are (natural) traces of quartz in a triangular pattern.

There is a horse riding farm/ stables next to it and the stone may be on their land, but they seem friendly.

I have to say that this area of France puts "Britain" as a Neolithic capital ... in the shade. It should have a cordon thrown round it and be called a Neolithic National Park ( but then I suppose tourists would pour in even more .. so delete that suggestion :) TH
