Drannandow Circle
Drannandow Circle submitted by mickm : This circle is so inconspicuous that it is easy to miss it even if you are standing by it. This photo shows the 6 remaining stones hiding in the grass. It is just to one side of the track up to the rather more impressive Drannandow chambered cairn & the Thieves standing stones. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Stone Circle in Dumfries & Galloway

A dilapidated Neolithic Stone Circle of diameter c.26m, with only 6 stones visible.

For more information see Canmore site no. 63017 which describes this stone circle as: "Five stones remain in situ, two others are prostrate and a group of boulders marks the site of another. The stones are middle-sized boulders, 2' 8" in maximum height, set with their broad faces on the line of the circumference. Adjacent lie a number of similar stones, probably other members moved."

Drannandow Circle
Drannandow Circle submitted by SumDoood : Difficult to photograph being on a convex slope without high ground nearby from which to take the shot. And the sheep on this farm are particularly curious. It's not the most impressive circle, but I like it because it reminds me of those at Lacra (SW Cumbria, in a geographically similar situation). I feel almost sure that this circle is further south down the slope than the OS shows it.
