D8b Kniphorstbos
D8b Kniphorstbos submitted by ShamrockStone : The small hill is covered with snow. The circle indicates the edge of the depression. Site in Drenthe Netherlands (Vote or comment on this photo)
Passage Grave in Drenthe. The location of this destroyed hunebed, which was discovered at the same time as hunebed D8a, was recognizable in the terrain as a faint, oval depression with the start of a low hill around it. This hill can be regarded as the cover hill. Summary research has shown that the depression largely coincides with an excavated pit containing a lot of gravel. Some pebbles from the basement floor were found at the bottom of the pit. The size of this pit (6 x 3.5 m) suggests that it must have been a small hunebed, with no more than three pairs of side stones
