This menhir is located in the homestead of Abelhoa or Bulhoa near by the town of Monsaraz. With a phallic form it was made out of granite with carved decorations representing an irradiated sun, a crosier and has got rows with different forms made out of broken, wavy, snaky lines and zigzags. Abandoned over a long time this monument layed prostrate on the ground which contributed to the erosion of its prints. Is fractured at the top and the base has been reconstructed in 1970 by the the initiative of the District Board of Évora (Junta Distrital de Évora) and the Friends of Monsaraz Group (Grupo dos Amigos de Monsaraz).
The monument was rebuilt in its granite base and rebuilt since the bottom was used for other purposes. It has the actual length of 4 metres tall (157 inches) and the axis of its elliptical section is approximately of 1 meter (39 inches). It's believed that it has been made between the beginning of the 4th and the mid 3rd millennium BC, the typical time period of the Évora monuments of the same type. It was classified as National Monument (MN – Monumento Nacional) at november 22nd,1971. Near by is also possible to visit the Anta of Belhoa.
