Albury Bottom Enclosure
Albury Bottom Enclosure submitted by SolarMegalith : Well preserved bank and ditch in western part of the enclosure (photo taken on November 2011). (Vote or comment on this photo)
Misc. Earthwork in Surrey. It is a roughly oval enclosure about 100m in diameter.

The enclosure is located on a heath area, it has a bank of 1-1,5 m height and a ditch, particularly well visible in northern part of the earthworks. There is an entrance at the east, but it might be a secondary gap.

The age of the enclusore is unknown, it might be an Iron Age or a medieval site. It's location suggests a non-defensive purpose (perhaps a coppice enclosure ?)

Great description of the site is at Chobham.info

Albury Bottom Enclosure
Albury Bottom Enclosure submitted by Andy B : Bank of the Albury Bottom Enclosure on a very waterlogged day after a whole night of torrential rain. Looking across Chobham common towards the Longcross barrows in the far distance, where the pylons are leading to. The whole place turned into a giant bog which makes me doubt whether anyone would want to live there, this site has to be a cattle enclosure of some date or other. (Vote or comment on this photo)
