Vote for your favourite British heritage site and you could win £1,500-worth of top-class photographic equipment! Radio Times and TV Channel Five have joined forces to find out what you think are the best ancient monuments, stately homes, castles and gardens are in the country.

This summer, Five will air four heritage programmes, one each on ancient monuments, stately homes, castles and gardens, and name the top ten in each group, as decided by you. Basically, without your votes there will be no shows.

Ed comment: So there are 12 choices that get whittled down to 10, how is that our choice? And why always monuments, that's such a cheesy word.

Anyway, I reckon that Stonehenge and Avebury are dead certs for high ranking, so how about a bit of tactical voting as I reckon poor old unsexy Grimes Graves, Maiden Castle and possibly Maes Howe may get kicked out as they are not as famous as the other sites.

Let's give those Romans a pasting!
