If you have a fondness for the ancient giants, rest assured that you are not the only one to be fascinated by them. Millions flock to dinosaur themed parks every year in the US alone because they never went extinct from our memories, especially after Jurassic Park! Judging by how things went in the movie, it’s probably good that live dinosaurs are not roaming about in real parks, but the following theme parks are certainly the next best thing.Field Station: Dinosaurs in Leonia, New Jersey
Field Station: Dinosaurs has a total of fifteen different species of therapods and sauropods for kids to gawk at during their trek through the Dino Trail. There are a few comparatively newer species of other prehistoric animals included in the exhibits too. The park has an educational show about dinosaurs for kids, and a fun fossil dig for children to enjoy.Staying true to the outdoor theme, all dinosaurs at Field Station: Dinosaurs are roaming about in the open. The park lacks those brand-new lifelike animatronic Jurassic dinosaurs unfortunately, as they are all still models. Therefore, the dinosaurs out in the park are not as much roaming, as they are stuck in their permanent poses!
Cabazon Dinosaur Creationist Park in Cabazon, California
One of the most famous dinosaur themed attractions in the United States, the Cabazon Dinosaurs was popular decades before the first Jurassic Park Novel was even in conception. This is just one of the many things that sets Dinny the Dinosaur (1975) and Mr. Rex (1986) apart from other dino-themed attractions.Claude Bell’s vision with the 20-meter-long tyrannosaurus rex (Mr. Rex) and 46-meter-long brontosaurus (Dinny the Dinosaur) started way back in 1964 and was finally completed in 1986. Made from concrete and steel, Bell hoped that the dinosaurs would be superb attractions for the area and his own restaurant. He was right and people do still love seeing the two gigantic structures even today.
From 1996 onwards, the Cabazon Dinosaurs were made part of a dinosaur-themed park and museum. However, it remains completely unique in every sense of the word. Apparently, the two are now the main attractions for a creationist dinosaur theme park. While the administration there does believe dinosaurs and men were created on the same day by God, that does not keep it from being a good place to visit, if only to see the two oldest, manmade dinosaurs alone.
Dinosaur State Park in Rocky Hill, Connecticut
No other park or reserved location in the state has more dinosaur tracks in them than the Dinosaur State Park in Rocky Hill. All ossified tracks found at the site are preserved against weathering and damage by a geodesic dome, but visitors will be able to see them clearly. The Rocky Hill Dinosaur State Park is a place where everything from a dedicated museum for priceless fossils, to long nature treks with random dinosaur models on the roadside are all included in one green package. An honorable mention must be given to the Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose, Texas. If you wish to enjoy a full-fledged camping, swimming, hiking/mountain biking experience in a place filled with dinosaur tracks, this place won’t let you down.
