Nine Ladies
Nine Ladies submitted by vicky : One of the stones of Nine Ladies covered in wax from a tealight 14/04/02. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Following the report by Jez on the appalling state of the Bull Ring henge in Dove Holes, Derbyshire, it appears that this is not the only one of the Peak District sites to have suffered in the last few weeks.

On Sunday 14th April we visited the popular Nine Ladies stone circle on Stanton Moor, only to find the stones covered with candle wax, the grass around them burnt and the site covered in metal tealight cases (which we removed). Jez had been the day before and had not seen any evidence of this then, so we can only assume that it must have occurred on the night of Saturday 13th April.

Unfortunately we were also able to confirm Stu's report that part of the King's Stone has disappeared - only the larger piece now remains. We intend to write to all the relevant authorities about the damage and fly tipping at the Bull Ring and the acts of vandalism at the Nine Ladies.

Photos of all these events are linked above.
