Tom Muir writes: One weekend, around Easter 2003, Dr Colin Richards arrived on my doorstep looking for a bed for the night. He was up for the weekend, and wanted to investigate a few standing stones as part of a project he was working on.

Sigurd Towrie, writing on the Stones List adds: a cracking paper by Colin Richards on the stone circles of Orkney, Lewis and Arran should be going online on very soon. In Orkney he has confirmed that the hill of Vestrafiold on the Orkney Mainland was the source of some of the stones for Brodgar and Stenness. In particular that the sourcing of the megaliths was perhaps as important as the construction of the stone rings.

What a very amazing story! Exciting pics, great and interesting stories, lovely people.i.e.Daphne and Richard. All the ingredients that a megarak needs, and more interesting theories!!!
