The two field extension to New Pilhough Quarry has been given the go ahead. "In return the company has given up its permissions to work Dungeon quarry and part of Stanton Moor quarry close ot the protected monument, the Nine Ladies stone circle." This does not effect the Stancliffe Stone applications.

Blockstone Ltd will not quarry the rest of Stanton Moor quarry for five years while further negotiations take place.

John Bull, chair of the Planning committee ends the press release by saying: "We know some people will not agree with what we have done but we hope they will understand that this was simply
the most realistic option."

Is it?!
