Description
The early version of St.-Clemens was a chapel built in the first half of the 10th century over a well basin with four well openings. It has been suggested that this site was built to replace the former pagan well sanctuary.

Today, the well basin can be visited in the middle of the church ruins. It is covered with a modern metal grid that exhibits the inscriptions Germanische Götterquelle ("Germanic gods well"), Heilquelle ("healing well"), Kinderquelle ("children well"), Taufquelle ("baptismal well").

Information panel within the church ruins.
