Sandstone is such a beautiful colour, but not a hard rock so the design has survived well. Gorgeous.

I did wonder, as I was taking these photos, if these sandstone shafts could be the bottom of the hammer head cross outside. Tho' the carving on these shafts seems finer than that on the hammer head cross.
