Description
The settlement in Karsdorf (Saxony-Anhalt/Germany) was used since the Early Neolithic. The Neolithic site was surrounded by a circular trench system with palisades and doorways.
Several simple burials were found within the area of the settlement, indicating that the dead were buried near or beneath the houses.
The picture shows a double funeral of two people from the Bell-Beaker culture (ca. 2600-2200 BC).
