Cadbury Camp was built in the late Iron Age, probably by the Dobunni Tribe who lived in the Somerset area. They dug out the ditches and used the soil to make the banks which would protect them from invading sources. On top of the bank would have been a timber fence. It is in a high position over the land below which would have been a boggy marsh. It is managed by the National Trust.
