This composite picture shows 'Mercian' crosses in the Staffordshire Moorlands and in eastern Cheshire at Cleulow, Leek, Macclesfield (West Park), Upton (Macclesfield), Swythamley. Nice collage; didn't know there was one in Stapleford - used to live very nearby - but I wouldn't have been interested then in all likelihood.

Now, perhaps all Portalers can help me. Do any of you know of other crosses / shafts, call em what you will, with the same style? Cylindrical lower part seperated by a square or rectangulat tapered top with a collar and 'swags'. It would be great to understand their geographical location. Thanks
