Close up of vandalised stone.. This is an X-rated photograph. What a sicko! Is it meant to be blood from a Druid sacrifice - or just evil stupidity? How far is this circle from so-called civilisation?

There was some talk a while back about how to deal with this sort of vandalism. Unfortunately, only after the fact. As you may be aware this has happened elsewhere before and I think most recently at the Rollright Stones in Oxfordshire. I think there may be some advice available from English Heritage about how paint can be removed without damage being caused to the stones. However this sort of work needs to be carried out by experts appointed by the local authorities. Very sad.
