Just one stone remains standing now. Where are the others? They are broken and scattered in the adjacent hedgerows. Don't you just love farmers - custodians of the land! The circle was described by Falkner in 1840 and a plan by W. Long shows that there were 12 stones in a circle of 37m circumference. So the damage has been done since then.

Description
Just one stone remains standing now. Where are the others? They are broken and scattered in the adjacent hedgerows. Don't you just love farmers - custodians of the land! The circle was described by Falkner in 1840 and a plan by W. Long shows that there were 12 stones in a circle of 37m circumference. So the damage has been done since then. The circle is sign-posted from the road alongside the West Kennet Avenue and is just a quarter of a mile along the footpath that follows the field edge.
