Description
General History Gallery: The ancient market cross at pretty Monyash village in Derbyshire's Peak District. Not far from Arbor Low, it stands in the centre of the village green, very conveniently placed for the local pub!

It's a good one isn't it, Angie? I've been here a couple times myself, though the church has never been open. I've moved it to the general history gallery as it's much too late a cross to go on the ancient crosses database here though.

OK Tim. Sorry about that. BTW: the church was open that afternoon in June. (I seem to get luckier than you with these, don't I?...like Old Radnor, for instance!) ;-)
