Montezuma Mound Group

Description
McEvers Mound in Montezuma, Illinois in 1905 prior to its excavation. They found 1195 chipped, leaf-shaped blades averaging 5 inches in length and 3.5 inches wide. Most were white but others were red and black. A 6-foot long skeleton was also found with 72 very large shell beads.
