Description
March 2017. More than 90% of all prehistoric barrows are destroyed, but there still are several round barrows preserved in the North-western part of Lower Saxony. Only very few survived in an open-field setting. This is one of the few examples, although it obviously is robbed and badly damaged by ploughing. As a result this round barrow is more a square-barrow nowadays. Hopefully it will survive. Probably it dates back to early bronze-age (3600-4000 BP).
