A birds-eye diagram of the 'circle'. 

To my eyes there appeared to be a small burial cairn at its center. This would be a typical plan for small upland stone circles, especially near the coast. 

This would see the eastern stone as an outlier - likely moved to make way for the wall / gate.

Given the line the three north stones creates, we wouldn't expect a return on the south stone.
