Description
Close up of the Merrivale Menhir Cairn, which measures 0.3m high and 3m in diameter. Pastscape tells us: "Stones protrude through the mound around the central excavation pit: a 1.0m diameter 0.4m deep hole". Butler adds: "Three stones, one of them flat and well away from the edge, may be the remains of an outer ring, but if so are eccentrically placed”.
