Description
Nesactium Hillfort
Hillfort near Pula, Croatia. Prehistoric gate as seen from the inside.
This Hillfort was inhabited since the Neolithic Age until the fall of the Roman Empire. More famously, it became the location of the Istrian Illyrians last stand.
The Pula Museum has many fascinating cult objects.

Now that's a great example to help mentally reconstruct other hillfort entrances. Really helps interpretation. Thanks :o)
