Description
The Sittaford Stone Circle was discovered in 2007 as announced in January 2014 issue of the Devon Archaeological Society Newsletter. The stones are recumbent and/or buried. They are located at SX 63019 82813 not far to the west of Sittaford Tor. The Grey Wethers double stone circle is about 1km to the east-northeast. These pictures were taken in the rain on 25/5/14 which is why the last ones look blurry - water on the lens! Many of the stones were buried and have been uncovered which in the wet conditions leading up to today makes them look like they are lying in watery graves!
