January 2005. Early morning view of Toothill Camp from Hoe Lane to the north. The area is busy with high-voltage electricity lines. The mature redwoods growing on the site are clearly visible, but its not possible to get close enough to see the defences.

In addition: this is one of the closest hillforts to my home (in Southampton) but can only be enjoyed from a distance because it is on private land. Coming home from work (Eastbound on the M27, between junctions 2 and 3) I noticed that you can see the giant redwoods on the top of the hill peeking out above Nightingale Wood in the distance.
