Description
Seschemnofer III. was a vizier during the 5th dynasty in ancient Egypt. His mastaba dates ca. 2350 BC .
The sacrificial chamber of the mastaba was dismantled and brought to Tübingen (Germany) in 1911. The original walls and reliefs can still be visited in the Museum Alte Kulturen in Tübingen.
East Wall: Sacrificial animals are shown to Seschemnofer III., who is standing on the left side. In the top row there are scribes with papyrus cases who record the animals shown. Game animals are brought in in the second row, cattle in the third row and poultry in the fourth row.
