Description
The Temple of Augustus in the center of Pula survived the last two centuries nearly intact on account of the slow economic development of Pula. In 1944, when the town served as a base for the German and Italian navy, the temple was badly hit by bombings but was lovingly put back together. There are traces of 2 other similar temples next to it, but they were considerably modified. The architecture is very similar to the Roman Temple in Nimes, France.
