Re: Mynydd Egryn by w650marion on Tuesday, 27 July 2021

So if anyone is interested in finding these hut circles, they can be separated out.
The Mynydd Egryn Settlement close to (right next to) the Hengwm Ring Cairn is a Scheduled Monument and because of this it is unlikely to be excavated -

The Coflein reference above describes it clearly.

But this is a very large field with other hidden hut circles and cairns, and one has been excavated for the Ardudwy Early Landscapes Project. It has been reconstructed to mark the position. This has it’s own Coflein entry with some notes on what was found -

To see this one you have to walk 250 meters WNW downhill from the main settlement and search among the tufts of rush bog grasses as it is a very low structure, but quite lovely when you find it.
