Hi

I work just up the road from this and talked to an artist who painted the landscape in 2006 and said a couple of things to report.

Firstly he stated that the stone circle wasn't there when he painted in 2006 and that he meet someone whilst painting who had collected many flint arrow heads from the mole hills in the field nearby.

As a note these stones are on top of a spoil heap of the 1607 silver mine. We can speculate that before the mine there may have been a pool or spring that yielded silver nodules.
