These places have always been in Lancashire - not Merseyside. They are included in many many histories of Lancashire.
There is also the Roman Road which has been known about for a very very long time and actually underneath some of the Council House gardens in Newton area. yet these only a few years ago were claimed to have only been discovered by people from Liverpool University which was not the case.
We should all be proud of our heritage. and not allow people to claim it like that.
