Re: Glanshammar by DrewParsons on Thursday, 29 September 2011

This site comprises three burial mounds, three stone settings and a ship tumulus with nine erected stones. The site dates from 400 AD through to 1050 AD. In 1937 the ship tumulus was partially excavated and what appeared to tbe the remains from two burials were uncovered. The site is located on the east side of the road which runs north from Glanshammar village towards Torphälla hamlet just as you leave Glansdhammar village. 100 metres further north on the west side of the same road there is a continuation of the site with more mounds.
