Re: Barbrook II by Vicky on Friday, 01 February 2002

Barbrook II is a fantastic site, quite unlike any other in Derbyshire. It was restored in the 1990s by The Paek District National Park Authority following a series of acts of vandalism.

Technically access is restricted because the site is located within a Wildlife and Sanctuary Area, but rangers told us they don't mind people visiting as long as they don't go during bird nesting season and don't cause further damage by lighting fires etc.

As well as the stone circle, the capstone of a cist in the middle of the circle is decorted with prehistoric rock art - a cup mark and a chevron design.

Something is not right. This message is just to keep things from messing up down the road
