Brow Moor RB3
Brow Moor RB3 submitted by johndhunter : RB3 (west) at NZ 95936 02045 – Viewed looking easterly, May 2023 (Vote or comment on this photo)
Two heather covered bronze age round barrows in prominent positions at the northern edge of Brow Moor (Stoupe Brow). The eastern barrow which is marked on the present day (2023) OS map is at NZ 95967 02034 (my gps) whilst the western, some 30m away is at NZ 95936 02045 (my gps). Both barrows are made of earth and stone and have robbed out centres.

Even though it is not marked on the map the western barrow being 10m in diameter and 0.9m high is actually the most prominent of the two barrows and I could clearly see it standing above the heather whilst walking by on the nearby track. However the eastern barrow being lower at 0.5m and 12m in diameter blends in with surrounding heather and not easy to pick out, for this reason it is also difficult to get a decent photo.

Brow Moor RB3
Brow Moor RB3 submitted by johndhunter : RB3 (East) at NZ 95967 02034 – Viewed looking southerly, May 2023. Low lying , covered and surrounded by deep heather it is difficult to get a decent photo, also not easy to pick out even when walking close by. It is only when up close that you can see it for what it is. (Vote or comment on this photo)
