Artificial Mound in Gloucestershire

Taken from the Heritage Gateway: A probable bowl barrow situated on the edge of arable at the head of a steep sided re-entrant, at 750 ft OD. The mound is slightly ovoid, being 12.0 m north east/south west by 10.0 m transversely; it is mutilated on the south west side, and the surface concentration of loose stones suggest its subsequent use as a stone clearance heap. There is no visible ditch.
Located during temporary field survey duties 24 2 78. Visible on OS large scale photography (b).
Surveyed at 1:2500 on MSD. (1)
