St Palladius' Well
St Palladius' Well submitted by KiwiBetsy : The well is situated on private land (in a lovely garden) near to the ruined Chapel of St Paladius (or the 'Paldy Kirk') in Auchenblae. In 1864 it was described as “a spring coming out of the face of a rock”. The present structure is what most people would think of as a ‘traditional’ well. The wire netting is to keep leaves out and wandering hedgehogs from sampling the water. It was a p... (Vote or comment on this photo)

St Palladius was a 5th century Irish missionary and the first bishop of Ireland.

He preached among the Picts but died at Fordoun a short time after arriving in Scotland.
