This stands by Crail Parish Kirk. It is one of three " Blue Stanes " in Fife, another is at Balcomie beach, a short drive from here. Another is in St Andrews. The two in the Crail area are said to have been one thrown by the Devil from the Isle of May ,but it split in half. There is an indentation on the side of the Stone, this is the Devil's thumb print.
Update August 2017: This stone is also described on The Northern Antiquarian's page for Devil’s Blue Stane, Crail, Fife which quotes from Polson's 1932 survey of witch-lore.
