drolaf visited on 10th Aug 2024 - their rating: Cond: 2 Amb: 3 Access: 4 just recumbent and flankers and a few support stones. in a line of old beech trees just below brow of hill. unfortunately this made it an ideal hideaway campsite fo someone who left bottles of ex vodka, some broken, and general rubbish, plus the remains of a campfire. at least they took their tent with them. nout wrong with wild camping, but you're supposed to leave no trace. some folk just don't have the 'skillset' of carrying an empty can.

golux visited on 10th Oct 2018 - their rating: Cond: 2 Amb: 4 Access: 3 There is a sign-posted footpath to the stones, beginning at a gate into woodland on the north side of Dunnideer Hill on Western Road. Follow the "Dunnydeer" (sic) signs from the centre of Insch, past the lay-by for Dunnideer Hill (1.5km from centre) to a parking bay on the left side 2km from the centre. N.B. The stones are obscured by low hanging foliage except when the trees are bare.
