pawel visited on 15th Dec 2019 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 4 Access: 3 You can park at Burn o'Vat Visitor Centre, grab a map and head to Little Ord Trail. You'll find this Celtic/Pictish cross fairly easily. If you follow the path further along the bank of Loch Kinord, you will spot a small island covered in trees - Crannog Island - that once was a house built on stilts over the water. If you go even further, near New Kinord are hut circles.

golux visited on 19th Aug 2012 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 4 Access: 4 Access: from the cross-roads in the village of Dinnet, take the A97 north for 1100m then take the (unsignposted) road on the left which leads to a car-park. The noticeboard there shows the paths around Loch Kinord and the location of the "Celtic Cross". From the car-park it is a very pleasant 10 minute walk.

Loch Kinord Cross Slab submitted by cosmic : Loch Kinord Cross Slab (rather overexposed - I'll do it with the proper camera next time!). (Vote or comment on this photo)
Class III Pictish Cross Slab in Aberdeenshire. This Class III Cross Slab appears on the OS Map on the north Side of Loch Kinord but is not in either Elizabeth Sutherland "Pictish Guide" nor the RCAHMS Illustrated Gazetteer of Pictich Symbol Stones.

Yet according to the RCAHMS Database it was originally situated near to the ruined chapel at the lochside before being removed to the park in Aboyne in the 19th Century. It was restored to as near as possible its original position in 1959. Surrounded by a railed enclosure it stands some 6 feet high by 3 feet wide.
