In 1715, there was still a row of 7 standing stones at the foot of the hills, in the direction eastwards opposite the sherrifmuir inn. They were called the 7 stones of fertility, representing the seven kingdoms of the picts. chaanter50@hotmail.com

According to the local paper (The peeblesshire) a ploughman dislodged one of the stones from its correct possition in 1976 the same thing happened to the other stone in 2000, these stones were placed on negative leylines they used to block the negative energy untill they were bumped of there place, the stones act like needles used in accpuncuture, it is now claimed that much more negative energy will flow down the valley.
