Park at ND13277 261631, walk up the track past the electricity pylon. If you want to go to the Two Dogs first, turn left at ND 13064 26351 and follow it round. (Otherwise stay on the main track). From the 2 dogs you can see 'The Shepherd' up above you, but to reach it, keep on the track - don't try to go straight over the rough - it's hard walking and you can't get over the deer fence anyway. The track leads you to a gate into the field with the stone in.

Just been along to this stone today and also the nearby broch.

The stone itself is magnificent. It's about 12 feet tall and is very imposing when you're up close to it. The ambience is noteworthy too.

The broch must have been quite a big dwelling once.
