Rhyd Uchaf cairn
Rhyd Uchaf cairn submitted by cerrig : Not much to see now, the small depression in the middle is the remains of the Cist. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Rhyd Uchaf cairn sits on top of a small hill in the bottom of the Llia valley, sandwiched between the infant Afon Llia to the West and Sarn Helen Roman road to the East. About 320 meters to it's North West is Maen Llia standing stone.

Largely robbed of it's covering now, all that remains is a low ring of stones, mostly grass covered, with a central Cist.

They are all thinnish slabby stones, except for a much thicker one in the south east, mirroring the Breconshire circles with this characteristic. There don't seem to be any stones in th... Rhyd Uchaf cairn
Rhyd Uchaf cairn submitted by cerrig : This solitary stone lies about 50 feet from Rhyd Uchaf cairn. It is one of several stones in the valley that have a distinctive pointed profile. Rylee Jacks rock is another one, sited directly on the opposite side of the valley and pointing in this direction? This stone has a very specific geometric relationship with the nearby cairn and the larger Llia valley monument layout. This is t...
