A site with no recorded history, apart from its appearance on the 1868 OS map. You can find it by taking the South West Coast Path northwest from the car park at Rame Head: it sits right beside the path as it dips slightly, a couple of hundred yards along. Although the name is 'wells' in the plural, there seems just to be one spring, pouring directly from the slate cliff face. The water is retained in a concrete kerb which is, very interestingly, decorated with inlaid chips of slate forming the word UBIQUE (Latin for 'everywhere') and the initials FM and WH. Someone clearly visits the well regularly as there were tea lights, shells and pebbles left on a shelf next to the spring.
